    Is partitioning of table possible in Oracle 10g Standard edition One??

    You could use partition views though ... google for details

    Even so, there's nothing about partitioning that makes it only a Big Table solution. Performance is all relative.

    In general you want to partition a table either looking to help performance or to help purging strategy.
