    Hi,

    One of our databases is on 7.3.4 running on HP-UX 10-20. The system has 6 processors and we would like to set DB_BLOCK_LRU_LATCHES to 12 (current setting is 1). Is this allowed on 7.3.4?

    On version 8 onwards this can be set to multiple of CPUs and we can not find any documentation in 7.3.4 manuals.

    Check out Note 35453.1, "7.3.2 Tuning Issues", section 12.1, on the MetaLink website. Though it's 7.3.2, it should apply to 7.3.4 as well.

    To register, I think you'll need to enter your CSI Oracle support number. Once registered, type in "35453.1" in the Search field and you'll get to the article I mentioned.
