Urgent - RMAN restore to new instance

Gurus,

I've never restored using RMAN before and I'm in need of assistance. I have a couple of questions.

1. Do I need to create an instance when I install 10G on the different server or will RMAN take care of this for me.

2. The RMAN files look like this .... IND_df620762414_s860_s1 ???? How do I restore using these files.

Any help would be great!!!! Thank you!!!

RMAN will not create instance for you, that's for sure
Please give more detailed explanation what are u trying to achieve

If you have never restored using RMAN then just posing such "broad" questions here would not help much...I say start with the doc. on RMAN as suggested above...
