Description

The incumbent in the Oracle DBA position is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of Production enterprise databases in multiple highly available, mission critical environments. This includes the design and implementation of High Availability solutions including backup and recovery, leading performance tuning activities to maintain high service levels and system performance, capacity planning and management reporting about the health of the database environments. Work closely with all functional groups to assure a smooth implementation and to insure compliance with all corporate adopted system standards and directions. Provide technical support to application development teams and Database Architecture as part of database development projects. Responsible for ensuring databases meet security best practices including SOX compliance, credit card and privacy standards. This person will be part of a team environment that shares on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience in Oracle Database Administration in large multi-server, highly available production database environment.
Experience in architected, created and administered 2 + production databases environments that use standby database or replication
Experience in architecting, configuring and maintaining highly scalable environments required.
Experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor 5+ Oracle instances, including alerting, and tuning
Expertise in Oracle 9i and 10G required.
Expertise in RMAN for database backup, recovery and cloning required.
Proven track record with Oracle database performance analysis and capacity planning.
Excellent troubleshooting skills required.
Proven experience supporting Oracle 9i in a UNIX environment.
Experience writing and optimizing code in PL/SQL and SQL
Extensive knowledge of HP/UX, AIX, Windows 2003 and Linux preferred.
Knowledge of Oracle RAC is preferred.
Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring and alerting is a plus.
Excellent communication, people, planning, negotiation and facilitation skills are required.
Understanding of and an ability to implement, internal system standards, procedures and services.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple workloads and projects with minimal supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with Data Warehouse, Websphere, Siebel and SAP database administration is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
