    Hi Prince

    If i delete the pwdsid.ora will it get be created automatically when I create the service.

    Nope! Ravi, you have to recreate your orapwsid file again. SORRY, I was referring to unix. Yes!

    oradim -new -sid orcl -intpwd internal -startmode auto -maxusers n -pfile i:\orant\database\initorcl.ora

    will create orapwsid file in NT.

    Hi Reddy

    I created a new parameter file and tried to connect the database thinking that parameter file is corrupted.But Futile.

    so now i want to DELETE THE SID AND SERVICES & I HAVE TO RECREATE THEM.

    Shall have i to stop the services before doing this.

    Please let me know.

    check your DBA group

    Be sure you are logged in as a local administrator....
    otherwise BE SURE that the user you are loggin in with is IN the ORA_DBA group!

    This is most important!!!

    Hi Ravi:

    Yes, you have to stop the service. This is the recomended way of doing it.

    If not possible to stop the service, you can proceed without stopping it. This action is equivalent to "shutdown Abort".

    Note: confirm with the documentation.
