    Question RMAN doubts!!!

    When i did a

    rman>report obsolete;

    I get all the backups listing from sysdate-1 to the end

    I don't understand here as i have set "configure retention policy to redundancy 3", then it should be sysdate-3

    What does following command show?

    REPORT OBSOLETE REDUNDANCY 3

    When you configure redundancy parameter, time is not a contraint. If you are interested in time contraint, set RECOVERY WINDOW configuration as per your needs.
