How do we identify the relog file is archived or not?

    Hello,

I got a question when i read this article. This is about managing redo log files.

    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs...97/ch5.htm#512

Let us say, i wanted to drop one of the redo log group. I need to verify couple of things before i drop the file.

    1. I have to make sure that, the online redo log is not active.
    2. make sure the redolog file is archived.

How do i check the second point? How do i know that redo log file is archived? Please help me here. Thanks

status from v$logfile. Oracle won't let you drop the logfile group if it is still needed.
