    Tns-12654

    We are able to connect through sqlplus. But we get the following error when trying to connect through application. We are using Oracle 10.2.0.2 on HP UX-11.2.

    I doubt firewall restrictions in your case. Is the port open for traffic. Then check the in/out traffic. Traffic from application to the db server is being blocked.check the netstat?

    Also:
    Is the ping and tnsping works?
    Try changing the host name to ip and then give a try.

    have you resolve your HOST?
    DNS might have something to do with it.
