Description of Position:
Under the direction of the manager, this position is responsible for support, design and development contributing to the enterprise data warehouse, subject area data marts and other reporting and application needs for managed data. Specifically, this position is responsible for designing and managing the handling, delivery and storage of data into the enterprise data warehouse, data marts, reporting and application infrastructure. Included are modeling subject area data sources to meet anticipated reporting and querying needs, designing and building data marts according to these models, designing and developing data delivery strategies and processes to support our clients standard reporting tools, primarily Business Objects (Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports) and Oracle (Discoverer and Business Intelligence Suite).
In addition, this position is responsible to exhibit effective interpersonal skills and collaborative project management style and for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors. This position includes responsibility for supporting production operations including after-hours on-call problem resolution and system support duties.
[Required Skills]2-3 years experience with Oracle Warehouse Builder(OWB)
Our client will consider someone with only 1 year of Oracle Warehouse Builder as long as they have at least 4 years of experience with Oracle Databases(most recent versions like Oracle 9i and 10g.
Experience with Oracle Database 9i or 10g.
Able to write basic stored procedures.
Familiar with RAC option.
Must understand data quality.
4-5 years of PL/SQL
4-5 years of shell scripting-corn shell is preferred and perl is a plus.
4 years of experience working on Oracle platform.
They are in the process of selecting a presentation tool and will use one of the following tools.
*SAS
*Business Object
*Oracle bi suite
*Cognosis
4-year college degree in computer science or related field &/or equivalent work experience in information technology.
4+ years pf applicable reporting and database systems design for financial services or similar industry.
This is a key position, poised for a lot of career advancement.
Our client would also be willing to do a H-1 Visa transfer for the right person.
Candidates that do not have Oracle Warehouse Builder will be put into "Container B" and will only be considered if they are unable to find anyone.
Our clients project was originally outsourced and they brought it "in house" so they could have more control and accuracy.
[Desired Skills] ETL tools would be fine, data storage, informatica or synopsis.
