    Does dropping index invalidate procedures/Packages?

    Hi ,

    I am trying to recreate a problem that occured last week. One of the dba's dropped an Index (I can see from the logminer), and later we started seeing errors such as ORA-04061 existing state of string has been invalidated.

    I am trying to recreate a problem and find out what happened. But before I do it, I just wanted to check the forum if dropping an index on the table would invalidate the packages/procudures/indexes?

    Off the top of my head, I don't think so. Something easy to check, though...
