Oracle Patch list

How to determine patch level of Oracle version ? Need to determine which patches have been applied and list of patches needed to apply.

can anyone help ?

ie. we are currently on 8.1.7.4 ... plans to upgrade soon, but need information for management on current version.

I took over a database and need to find what level it is at ...

well you know the patchset (8.1.7.4) you can find this from the database or from sqlplus when you log in.

If you need patches they may be harder, if they wer einstalled using opatch then you can do opatch lsinventory and it will display the patches installed.

if they were hand installed they you wont be able to find out
