Thread: oracle 8i for win98

    I want to install oracle 8i for win98 then click the setup
    and then message

    Hence the oracle universal installer can not be run
    java environment was not found
    install jre version 1.1.7 or higher and try again


    but download jre higher version and try again same message appear ...

    Univesal Installer z java based program. For some reason it couldn't install universal installer. When you first try to install, it should 'Oracle Installation Products' if your system doesn't have those products already.

    Try installing any other oracle product like developer/designer , which also installs Universal Installer and then try Oracle8i.
