I'm migrating from SQL Server to Oracle, and would like to leave my Visual Basic code untouched, to the point of leaving my stored proc. calls (via ADO) with the same names. Due to the different way recordsets are returned betwen SQL Server and Oracle, I've had to put my stored procs. in packages to use Ref Cursors. I'd now like to create synonyms which reference the {package name}.{stored proc. name}. When I try to create such a synonym, Oracle thinks I'm prefixing the stored proc. with a schema name. E.g., CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM select_supplier FOR pack_supplier.select_supplier
Is what I'm attempting possible?
