    Cannot figure Oracle Intelligent agent in 10g

    I am not able to see how to install Oracle Intellignet agnet on 10g windows. please help.
    I dont want to install Enterprise Manager.

    so why install the agent if you arent using em?

    Thanks for the reply!

    Well in otherwords, There is a 9i EM ( with repository ) running on other system and need to configure to see this new 10g db on separate "X" system ( this is our first 10g ).
    The "X" system is installed with 10g Enterprise edition software only, and i donot see even agentctl in the oracle home dir.

    you cant do that - 9i em cant monitor 10g databases

    you need to install 10g grid control which can in turn monitor your 9i databases

    10g does not have an "intelligent agent", there are only two ways you can use EM console for 10g:

    1) Install 10g WinDoze Client with "Administrator" option and you get EM (limited) console.

    2) At the server, configure and start the "Web" version of EM console using the emca and emctl utilities.

    yes it does, its called grid control and you deploy the agents to each node
