oracle 7x compatibility with Microsoft Windows
Dear All,
Is oracle 7x (oracle 7.3) compatible with Windows 2000 Server/Windows 2003 Server (64 bit/32 bit).
Currently it is on Windows 95/NT, we need to migrate it to Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server.
Please advise ASAP

At home, I have Personal Oracle 7.3.4.5 up and running in Windows 2000 Professional (togheter with 8i EEr3, 9iEEr2 and 10gEER2, not all at the same time, obvious), so it works, but for sure, it´s un-suported , instable, it can work or not in your case, who knows.
Regards,
Chiappa

Its better to migrate it to 10g...lots of intangible benefits u can get dear. Just use 10gXe coz its free
Or
Tha fastest way is to install 10gXE to your windows2003 server
and create dblinks to your 7.3/NT and create synonyms to all your
tables in 10g and presto! you got an instant 10g prod db

Thank You all for your quick responses.
I have advised to migrate oracle aswell alongwith the O.S.
That will ease my life as well.

Presumably you'll be fully testing your application on 10g first, right? There are a ton of differences between the two. Do you know what optimizer (RULE\COST) you are using on 7x?
