Error? -> ASM on RAC allways mounts and unmounts
Hello,
I got the following entries in the alert.log of an oracle10g cluster and asm and do not know if it is accepted as normal:
SUCCESS: diskgroup DG2 was mounted
SUCCESS: diskgroup DG2 was dismounted
SUCCESS: diskgroup DG2 was mounted
SUCCESS: diskgroup DG2 was dismounted
SUCCESS: diskgroup DG2 was mounted

Has some body such entries they look alike this?

Yea, it's normal to see these entries in the alert log. However, you shouldn't get these during normal operation.
Here's a sample of one of mine:
grep SUCCESS alert_+ASM1.log |head -6
SUCCESS: diskgroup DISKGROUP1 was mounted
SUCCESS: completed COD recovery for group 1/0x46bdb403 (DISKGROUP1)
SUCCESS: refreshed PST for 1/0x46bdb403 (DISKGROUP1)
SUCCESS: rebalance completed for group 1/0x46bdb403 (DISKGROUP1)
SUCCESS: rebalance completed for group 1/0x46bdb403 (DISKGROUP1)
SUCCESS: refreshed PST for 1/0x46bdb403 (DISKGROUP1)

Hello KenEwald,
thank you for your reply!
we get this messages only for disk group 2 where archive logs are written and in a high number.
for disk group 1 where data files are stored we get no such messages.
Is there any differenz in treatment of oracle belonging archive and data files?
