    Arabic data in txt file

    Hi everyone,
I have an oracle 9i database on windows xp running which has a table containing data in arabic. The characterset supporting the arabic language has been already set correctly.

I need to spool the data of that table it in a text or csv file ....
    Any ideas on that ....

Normal spooling gives the result in '????'

    Thanks

    Yes

    Select columnname from tablename where.....

gives the correct output and in Arabic.

I think when we save it in a text file it gets saved in ANSI encoding if i could save it in Unicode encoding then i could get the spooled data in arabic.

    as we write spool c:\ar.txt
it opens a file when spool off it saves the data in Ansi encoding is there any way to specify the encoding
