    MAXIMUM AVAILABILITY mode - Oracle 10g

    Hi all!

    Can you explain me, what parameters are affected when set an oracle database (oracle 10g dataguard) in maximum availability mode?

    I'm interested to know what is happen when I use: ALTER CONFIGURATION SET PROTECTION MODE AS MAXAVAILABILITY?? what parameters are altered (modified)?

    no parameters are set, its a property of the database

    but I read somewhere: .... a primary database operating in the maximum availability protection mode with a NET_TIMEOUT attribute value set to 60 seconds and an EXPIRE_TIME of 1 minute could actually take a minimum of 1 minute to connect or up to 3 minutes to terminate the connection to the standby database.....
