    DB Health Check

    Hi all,

I have to give a customers db a 'once over' tomorrow just to give them an idea that all the settings they have set are ok. Does anyone have a broad overview of what one should look at to provide a 'health cheack' for a 10g db? At a glance I would look at:

    init.ora (memory settings and all)
    check if archiving is on
check if a backup strategy is in place
check if all dbfs/control files are placed correctly
check if segments placed in the right areas

They are going are using partioning ( i have little experiance of this ), is there any thing i need to look at for this?

Any more ideas will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Chucksk

Run statspack to gather performance snapshots through out the day

as well as backup strategy do they test restores, some places have great docs etc about backing up the database but never test restores!!!
