Install on Windows - change install account?

I have Oracle installed as a Domain Admin account (Not an account in any Windows DBA_GROUP, as the docs 'suggest').

The account is a shared account.

Is it possible to 'move' the install to another account? (An Oracle DBA only account?).

    Doesn't sound feasible to me...

Why you wants to move the install to another account rather adding the current account to the DBA_GROUP? That should work..

The current account is a shared account. Its password can't be changed, so its not very secure.

I really do need to move the install to a more secure account.

    Any suggestions?

Is there any problem in adding the DBA_GROUP to the account and removing the DOAMIN ADMIN group from the account ?
There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies, and benchmarks...

Unix is user friendly. It's just very particular about who it's friends are.

    Yes,

The account was used by a number of 'admins' to install and configure numerous apps etc. The password is embedded in things, in configurations etc. They tell me it would take too long to check everything (a lot is undocumented (!!!)) so they won't change the password.

Whether or not this account is in the DBA_GROUP or the DOMAIN ADMIN group - the password can't be changed and so its unsecure.

So I have an Oracle install with a password known by several people other than the DBAs or those entrusted with looking after the Oracle server; and it makes me uneasy.

So I need to somehow move the install to a new secure account.
