    Partitioned Tables!

    Hi,

We have a partitioned table partitioned by week and every sunday
night the oldest is dropped and a new one added for the coming week to maintain a retention period of 10 weeks.

Some procedures get invalidated after the run - only a partition is dropped and a new one added woth indexes being rebuilt. There is a procedure to re-compile schema objects but is not being used.

Do objects get invalid after partition drop an add ?

    Rgds.,

Sounds odd to me -- can you put together a demonstration script of the problem?

    Hi

Does the procedure reside in a remote database or local database where the partitions are dropped and restored

    regards

    Hi,

The procs are in the same db. as the schema owner. But they seem to get invalidated after the re-part run. The script to partition is vendor supplied.

It uses SPLIT PARTITION from the max value partition to create the new partition for the coming week when run on a Sunday. Then re-builds all the indexes.
