    Patching Oracle

We currently do Oracle development for customers, but we don't run any production databases ourselves. It's all for R&D purposes. How do we go about getting patches to the databases so we can have the same version of database as our customers do?

Do we have to acquire a license in order to get patches?

Also, what's the latest version of 9i anyhow? We have the base install of 9.2.0.1 installed here.

Also, forgive me, I am an Oracle newbie for the most part.

Does acquiring support cost anything? Is there a flat fee?

Not sure, but I suspect so. I think they announced that 9iR2 is off support as of July next year, so the EOL is coming...
