    need for creating new datafiles

    hi friends, in our database, some of the tablespaces with
    datafiles size exceeds
    one giga byte. does it effetct peformance.?
    shoud i create new tablespace space and datafile to
    store the further objects and data?

    no, it doesnt affect performance - we arent in the 1970's anymore

    If this size increases every - day, week you need to worry and analyze why?

    Size does matter if you have less disk space, otherwise....

    Prolly a more important thing to worry about is recovery. Bigger data files take longer to recover.

    On the other hand, fewer files are somewhat easier to manage.

    My suggestion: use ASM with OMF; set it .. and forget it!
