RAM upgrade
Hi All,
If we upgrade the RAM from 1GB to 3 GB on the machine where Oracle is running, What are the things we need to configure in Oracle for better performance?
Or Oracle will configure itself accrodingly?
Thanks for your time.

have you discovered a memory problem which required you to install more memory.
Allocating more could make things worse

In one of our team they have upgraded the RAM, may be because of the performance. After doing this they come to me with this query. I've asked the same thing which you are asking but I didn't get proper reason.
So I thought to discuss this issue here.
Please let me know if there are any configuration related to RAM which we've to make after upgrade of RAM.
Or let me know if there is any material available on net for reading to get the information regarding the same.
Thanks for your time.

you need to know what the problem was before you can change anything
-
Do you have statistics collected before RAM upgrade?
As Davey said, dont allocate more and get things worse.
Look into SGA components and justify the allocation, if needed.
P.S:Oracle will not adjust itself.

...unless you are on 10g and using automatic memory management.
