    Angry cman is missing oman.ora

    Hallo,

    when I try to start the connection manager I get the following error message:

    (EVENT=CMAN.ORA not present)

    But I created cman.ora on $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/ !!!

    The output of cmtl is the following:

    #################################################################

    oracle@memrman01 #cmctl

    CMCTL for Solaris: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on 28-AUG-2006 13:16:27

    Welcome to CMCTL, type "help" for information.

    CMCTL> administer
    Current instance CMAN_memrman01 is not yet started
    Connections refer to (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=memrman01)(PORT=1521)).
    The command completed successfully.
    CMCTL:CMAN_memrman01> startup
    TNS-04012: Unable to start Oracle Connection Manager instance.
    CMCTL:CMAN_memrman01>
    #################################################################

    The content of cman.ora is:
    ################################################################

    cman_menrman01 =
    (CONFIGURATION =
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=memrman01)(PORT=1522))
    (RULE_LIST=
    (RULE=
    (SRC=*)
    (DST=127.0.0.1)
    (SRV=cmon)
    (ACT=accept)
    )
    (RULE=
    (SRC=*)
    (DST=*)
    (SRV=*)
    (ACT=accept)
    )
    )
    (PARAMETER_LIST=
    (TRACE_DIRECTORY=/opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/cmdb/network/log/)
    (TRACE_LEVEL=off)
    (LOG_LEVEL=admin)
    (CONNECTION_STATISTICS=yes)
    )

    ################################################################

    OS: Sun Solaris
    DB: Oracle10.2.0
    cman.ora: /opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/cmdb/cman.ora

    For me it seems that the cmctl utility does not read the cman.ora! But why?

    Question: Where have I to create the cman.ora?

    Thank you for your help!

    One point I did not debate was: I got more than one ORACLE_HOME

    On our test system the cman is now running after the deletion of the second ORACLE_HOME.

    How can I define that cman is using MY cman.ora?

    Has anybody an idea?

    Thank you very much!

    A typo?

    CMCTL> administer
    Current instance CMAN_memrman01 is not yet started
    Connections refer to (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=memrman01)(PORT=1521)).

    The content of cman.ora is:
    ################################################################

    cman_menrman01 =
    Ales
