    Ora-19607

    Greetings to All,

    I am running the delete obsolete command in order to delete backups and archivelogs from rman which resulting in the ORA-19607. This is the stack of error i got when i try to run delete obsolete command.

    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-03009: failure of delete command on ORA_DISK_1 channel at 08/08/2006 09:54:25
    ORA-19607: +WEBMP_DATA/webp/controlfile/current.256.589498361 is an active control file

    I am not sure why rman wants to delete the active control file. Any suggestions or workaround would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    P_G
