If Oracle is the biggest database software on the market and just about every business today uses a database, why is Oracle DBA so hard to get into? I mean no one wants to train but yet the margin of Oracle based businesses is widening. Wouldn't this behavior be indicative to a shortfall in DBA's in the future if no one wants to be the "trainer" of new DBA's coming into the market?

It would appear that DBA entrance is acheived by knowing another field and "falling" into Oracle. It seems no one enters IT through Oracle as I am attempting. What gives?
