Oracle 10g Client 9i server compatibility

I would like to know if a user who has just upgraded from 9i to 10g, can still continue to connect to a server which is running 9i. if YES then will he be able to still continue using all privileges that 10g offers or will he be able to use only those services that 9i offers.

    thanx in advance.

Yes - 10g client will allow connections to a 9i db.

will he be able to still continue using all privileges that 10g offers
What privileges are you talking about here? Those within a 10g database (in which case the answer is obviously no)? Or others???

like, if a client is using 10g will he be able to use the full features of 10g whilst he is connected to a 9i server?

10g client is a window(tool) you are using to access 9i server. You'll get only 9i. Try the other way.
