Your environment needs to be set up. $ORACLE_HOME, $ORACLE_SID, and $ORACLE_HOME/bin needs to be in the path.
    this space intentionally left blank

    Thanks gandolf989,
I checked that and now everything is working fine.
I have another problem...when I try to launch oem or netca. I get this error message. My friend also faces the same problem... Can you help me out on this too..

I try to start it by giving 'oemapp console'

    /oracle/jre/1.1.8/bin/../bin/i686/native_threads/jre: relocation error:

    /oracle/jre/1.1.8/bin/../lib/i686/native_threads/libjava.so: symbol __libc_wait, version
