    Oracle 10g Database Installation Problem

I am aware that the Microsoft Loopback adapter must be the primary (installed last) network adapter on a stand alone machine to install the database engine properly. Although I have installed the loopback adapter (and it is enabled), the preliminary Network Configuration Requirements check fails, generating the familar message regarding DHCP . . . Has anyone encountered the same issue? Thanks! Jim Elgie

You could try this (not sure if it will work but it's worth a shot):

Right click on 'My Network Places'
    Select Properties - Advanced Settings
In 'Adapters & Bindings'make sure that the correct network card is at the top of the list.
