    Help on Certification Books

    Hi All,
I'm curretly reading the Oracle 10G exam guide preparation book from Oracle Press. I would like to know whether Oracle Press book or Sybex is ideal from the exam point of view. Which one prepares you well for the exams?.

    Please let me know.
    Cheers

I will tell you that OraclePress is notorious for errors in the print. However, the explanations are a little more thorough. Sybex books are a better value since the disc included has an electronic version of the book and several practice exams. The topics are all covered in Sybex but I felt that they were very short explanations. Sybex uses a seed database in Oracle to guide you better than OraclePress does. Dollar for Dollar, I would highly recommend Sybex over OraclePress. Try buying the SelfTest Software. Oracle recommends it and the practice tests mimic the real exam to a tee!

I used the oracle press books for both 9i and 10g.
    They worked well for me.

I guess if your working with Oracle while studying for your exams then the books are just there to fill a few gaps.

    Best of luck!
