    hot standby control file issue

    10gR2 - Win2K

    Hello,

I have set up a hot standby for the first time, and finally got the standby into the mount state only to find that there is an error occurring (ORA-00214 inconsistent control files). When I created the stdb control files, I used 'alter database create standby controlfile ...'. The only problem is that my prod db has 3 control files, so I ran this statement 3 times to get all copies; just renaming each one. Is there a different way to get all 3 control files, and make sure that they are consistent?

    Thanks

no, you only need to do that once. the control files are all the same.

Just use one standby control file and copy it to all control file locations
