    DBMS_SCHEDULER problems

    Hello there!

Iam having some strange problems with the Oracle 10g R1 (10.1.0.4) job scheduler.
A couple of jobs had suddenly stopped working a week ago (which I had not noticed as I was not in town, and this was in development).

However, when I tried to edit the Job using EM, it just hung. The status of the jobs say they are valid and working!

So, I tried using sql*plus. Again same result.
I tried using stop_job, disable, drop etc to no avail. All of those just hung.

Now Iam at a loss on how to resolve this. As usual, metalink was of no benefit.

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards
    Suhas

Do the jobs have any sessions lying around in the database? Perhaps the jobs themselves are hung for some reason.

That's the strange part. No active sessions of the troublesome jobs exist.

Are you on windows? There is a job scheduler service that needs to be started. Not sure what the counterpart on unix is. To be honest I've never used it, so I'm not much of an authority. If you're lucky Tim Hall will see this, he's a bit of an expert on this area.
