    query to find second largest

    what will be the query to retrieve the second largest figure
    or third largest figure from the given set of figures.

    is there any other way to see the tables name of another user
    apart from using the Data dictionary - DBA_TAB_COLS.
    since i don't have the priviledge on this data dictionary.

    Dude...you really should do a quick search before you post multiple questions for things that were answered no more than several posts down .

    For your second question, if you don't like the answers that are given, then maybe you should be more explicit with your requirements. Why would you repost the question instead of just replying to the original one that you asked here ?
