We have an excellent long-term contract opportunity for an experienced SQL Database Administrator with a client in South Houston.

This individual will assist in the support and administration of over 170 installations of Window’s Server. This individual will work with a team of programmers to support the various database and application systems across multiple environments. They will apply relational database theory and data normalization to proactively protect the database environment and is focused on the stability of the overall computing infrastructure. Researching and troubleshooting known issues, in a professional and reactive manner, to complete resolution including communication with supervisor throughout the process. Proactive monitoring of the systems, interfaces and application performance to avoid downtime. Design and develop database structures, tables and SQL procedures. On call 24/7, Thursday evening change controls at 6:00PM may be mandatory and limited weekend work is required. Performs Disaster Recovery on MS SQL platforms.

Over 3 years of experience with being the primary DBA supporting Microsoft SQL Server in a 24/7 environment (with at least 1000 users is preferred). Support of the databases in Development, Staging and Production like environment a plus.
