Enterprise manager shows wrong status.
Hello!
EM is giving me this status:
The database status is currently unavailable. It is possible that the database is in mount or nomount state. Click 'Startup' to obtain the current status and open the database. If the database cannot be opened, click 'Perform Recovery' to perform an appropriate recovery operation.
-----
While,I can see from SQL plus as a sysdba from v$instance that the database staus is open.
I try to startup the database from EM,but it throws an SQL exception and tells me to shutdown the database.
I say yes.
I get an error: Premature EOF encountered, no trailer found.
---
I try again,this time,selecting a forced startup.I get the following message:
SQL> Connected to an idle instance.
SQL> ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 1207959552 bytes
Fixed Size 778856 bytes

But the "The database status is currently unavailable. It is possible that the database is in mount or nomount state. Click 'Startup' to obtain the current status and open the database. If the database cannot be opened, click 'Perform Recovery' to perform an appropriate recovery operation."
message is still there.I can no longer logon to the database through EM.
Can anyone help me on this? Thanks.

Are you using Grid Control or database control?
If you are using database control have you checked out notes 309687.1 and 315299.1 on metalink? If not, please check them and if you still have an issue update the thread accordingly.

Bazza

Thank you bazza.
I dont have access to that resource, but I was able to get past the problem.I figured out that I needed to run catalog.sql & catproc.sql to rebuild data dictionary & some pl/sql .Things worked fine after this-but I have no idea how data dictionary or pl/sql stuff got affected.
I'm using database access btw.
