    Installing Oracle over SAN storage

I have to install Oracle on Unix server and these two unix servers share the SAN storage disk to have failover going for active-active mode. This is not a RAC install.

In other words there will be one Oracle-home shared by both the servers. All the instance and the physical files will be in one logical partition(on SAN disk with raid5) mapped on both the servers.

Under these circumstances i need to configure the Listener and the tnsnames files. How would i do?

    Appreciate links and docs.

P.S: both the servers will be active 50-50 and share the load.

    Not clear to me.

Are we talking about a Cluster? If yes then how can this be Active-Active?

how can they be active - active (RAC) if you dont have RAC?

What you want isnt possible, you need RAC otherwise a database can be only be opened by a single instance on a single machine
