    Host Prefered Credentials ...

    Hi,

    OS: Windows 2000 AS
    DB: Oracle 10gR1

    I am not able to set the Host Prefered Credentials through OEM Database Control.

    I have gone through google & some other related forums but i find only one answer (adding the windows user name in Log on as a batch job list).

    I have done that steap but still not able to set Host Prefered Credentials.

    Is any one having any idea about this ?

    Thank you,

    -VNKT

    and the error is....

    Connection to host dba.orcl.local as user vijay failed: ERROR: Wrong password for user

    P.S: user vijay has administrator privilages on OS level.

    ! please help me to solve this interesting problem !

    Is the above problem any where related to my Listener configuaration? I am little bit suspecious on my Listener configuaration because the TNS Ping ms = 30. I am quoting my Listener as well as Tnsnames files below ...

    Listener.ora

    Code:
    LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
        (DESCRIPTION =
          (ADDRESS_LIST =
            (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = dba.orcl.local)(PORT = 1521))
          )
        )
      )

    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
        (SID_DESC =
          (SID_NAME = orcl)
          (ORACLE_HOME = D:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1)
        )
      )
    Tnsnames.ora

    Code:
    ORCL =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = dba.orcl.local)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = DEDICATED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL)
        )
      )

    Let me know what is going wrong with me ...

    Thank you,

    -VNKT

    Hi:

    I have a note to pass-on ...

    I have changed my OS user password couple of times. This is the same user to which i am trying to put in the host prefered credentials in oem.

    Will this any way effect in oem ?

    Thank you,

    -VNKT

    The subject line makes the difference bazza.

    I personally felt that 'Host Prefered Credentials' is the meaning full subject line when compared to 'oem preferences'. Any way i am closing the previous question.

    Forgive me if i cost your time.

    Thanks,

    this has nothing to do with your listener, you are dealing with host credentials as opposed to database credentials.

    I suggest you raise an SR, as you've granted the logon as batch jjob privilege to the correct domain account and I take it you updated the preferred credentials when you cahnged the password?

    Bazza
