    Question

    Could some one help me to know more in depth on the /etc/system setup for Oracle.


    On my system sun4u, if I were to increase my SEMMSL, SEMMNS, SEMOPM from 510, 1030,100. I wonder how it would help be on the side of performance.

    I also have question on the impact if I were to set the parameters like SEMMAP, SEMMNU, SEMUME. Could some one shed some light on how these would influence in the performance of oracle.

    Is there any site or white parper that talks about these parameter settings
