    I'm not a big fan of cold backup, and I think I was the one getting lambasted on dizwell.com. There are really no advantages to a cold backup and quite a few disadvantages.

    1. The database is down and all the associated BS that comes with a down database (users, db doesn't come back up, etc)
    2. Cold backups are much harder to recover correctly.
    3. The cache needs to get warmed up after the db is down.
