Hello my fellow DBA's
I am a junior DBA and I found these errors in my alert log and investigated them in the trace file that was created. The senior DBA seems to think it is not that important but I think it may be but not wanting to sound or look like and idiot I figured I would try here first before I pressed the issue. These errors are happening about once a week. It seems to me that a background process is dying. We are not running MTS or parallel server or anything.
Oracle 8.0.5.0.0
Windows NT 4.0
Lots of memory dumps, happening about once a week.
Errors are happening when we are updating snapshots on a remote datamart from central server.
error 600 detected in background process
OPIRIP: Uncaught error 447. Error stack:
ORA-00447: fatal error in background process
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17112], [80888908], [], [], [],

ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17114], [80888908], [], [], [],
[], [], []
Trace file names: on1pSNP1.TRC size 1.4 Mb
on1pSNP0.TRC size 1.4 Mb
Exact same job is run on 4 other databases without incident
Any ideas would be great, I check Metalink and couldn't find anything that pertained to my exact errors

ORA - 600 is generic errors that effect the oracle internals.
Most probably it could be a bug with that particular Version of Oracle. Some time it may cause severe database problems !!
You need to send trace files to oracle support and identify the problem or bug .
thanks.
