    Unhappy

    hi there,

just got oracle 8i installed on my machine that runs on red hat linux 6.2 on a piii 450 processor with 265mb ram.

i have decided to add a separate hard disk to store the database. have got a 1 gb hdd for this purpose. now the problem is, what file system do i have on that new 1 gb hard disk, so that i can still more boost up the performance. like is it freebsd or aix or linux native or any other file system. pls advice me of the implications in choosing any particular file system...

    thanks in advance & regards,
    ptbabu.

I would think linux native (ext2 i think), it's a Linux system after all.
