    Hi All,
I am running on a UNIX OS with ORACLE 7.3.3. I am having an error in one of my databases and I do not know what's causing it. It creates a trace file in my udump directory and has this error message:

    ksedmp: internal or fatal error
    ORA:00600: internal error code, arguments: [6033], [], [], [], []
current sql statement for this session:
(a hugh sql statement) select .........

    .............call stack trace.......
    ...etc

In my alert_log file the error message is:
    errors in file (Path/name.trc)
    ORA:00600: internal error code, arguments: [6033], [], [], [], []

Does anyone know why I am having this kind of error??? What should I do about it? This error happens on a regular basis.

You should call Oracle support immediately when you get ORA -0600 errors.

6033 denotes a network (conneciton) problem. Check with your n/w admin, also call Tech Support.

    Halo,
you said that 6033 is a network connection problem...is it documented somewhere ? I know it is always prudent to call ORacle support for ORA-0600 errors but I am curious to know if there is a doc that goes into the details like the argument 6033 you talked about.

    Thanks,

The internal error code (ora - 600) are restricted code error.
The gteneric ora-600 bug is not ducumented.

The number in the first parenthesis following the ORA 600 is sorta an extension to it. It can be refered to as ORA 6033.

I found the following by searching on ORA-00600 [6033] on metalink:
An ORA-00600[6033] was sometimes returned when updating a long column that was in the middle of the table columns.

This was a bug fixed in 7.3.3.4. Call Oracle support.

    Halo:

Were did you hear that the number in the first parenthesis can be refered to as ORA 6033?
