    max_dump_file_size

    Hi,

    I have set max_dump_file_size = 1000,
    but the trace files created in user_dump_dest location is more than
    the size mentioned in max_dump_file_size.

    could anybody tell me why is it so???

    And also if i set this parameter like
    set max_dump_file_Size=1000k
    It gives me error "ORA-02065: illegal option for ALTER SYSTEM"

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    When using just a number, it is the number of OS blocks, typically 512 bytes.
