    Regd. 10g ASM

    Hi,

What will be the performance implication because of the ASM instance compared to the Normal instance implementation.

How can we compare the stats?

    ASM provides the following functionality:

1.Manages a group of disks called disk groups. Litterally needs no stripping and mirroring for securing the data.
    2.Supports large files.
3.Provides optimal I/O load balancing without the need for manual tuning.
4.Managing the database objects without specifying mount points and filenames.

    Normal Instance:
Just the opposite of the above except 2.
