    At command prompt type: cd $ORACLE_HOME. I'm not sure if this can be changed.

    do not know if it helps much, but oracle homes can be read from registry hklm\software\oracle.
    on the other end, %oracle_home%\bin\oracle.key contains registry key to that oracle home.

    [NT is not UNIX]

    Once Oracle Home is created it can not be Changed.

    Usually Oracle Home is c:\orant

    or go to NT registry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-->SOFTWARE-->ORACLE-->ORACLE_HOMES-->ORACLE

    Thanks
