sys password
Hi Friends,
Agian and again ....i forgot password of sys as sysdba user.
I tried all the options that is being done before like:
1. add the user(administrator) to ora_dba group.
2. change sys password using orapwd.
3. sqlplus /nolog
connect / as sysdba
But still i cant login to the database.
Any idea i miss out plss
Thanks a lot

why do u use OS authentication if you have changed the sys (DB) password?
Login as
connect SYSTEM/password@mydb
change SYS password (if system has privs on your db)
conn sys/password@mydb as sysdba

thanks ...but i forgot both system and sys password...
what do i do now
-
you log into the server with the person in the right group and use os authentication
-
or try the basics. user sys=sys, change_on_install
user system=manager

Your funny of course not....i know my system password is just
manager or manager$ or manager$$ and my sys password is just sys$ or sys$$ or sys$$$ ....i tried all but still i get invalid password,
Dont worry dear...its just a test 10gR2 db
thanks

if you *know* the password then why are you putting in the wrong one to get the invalid password message?
Seems like a silly thing to do
-
what i mean is....thats what i believe the password was..
but it doesnt work....maybe i type it wrongly....and this is the first time I will be logging in to the database which i just created...and funny
i cant enter into it with any default user i know.

zexy, maybe there is another user u created a while back that you gave the dba role to. but if it doesnt work...well as you said its only a test db
