    RMAN Backup 10g

Is it necessary to change Default Device type from disk to tape in RMAN configuration if you have already specified Device type to as TAPE in the RMAN script?

No, it is not for that particular script.

But for it might be usefull for the future backup scripts (or Rman backups performed by straight RMAN commands without scripts) if your real *default* device type is indeed a tape, so you don't need to specify that explicitely.

    Thank You !!!

I mean that BACKUP script should work even though i don't specify TAPE as Default device in RMAN config? Is that right?
