    How to restore Windows NT Datafiles Unix

    Please i hv a cold backup i want to restore in Unix, if i recreate new instance for this database and after restore if i create a new controle file, is that it works, or any Idea, please Give me sujession.

    have you got a dba around who can help you? How much do you know about oracle

    transport tablespaces between OS's but yeah where is your DBA?

    Of course transportable tablespaces accross operating systems is only in 10gR2. If you are using something older than that you need to use export/import, a db_link, or sql loader. But you should get help from someone who knows how to do one of the above.
