TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection

Hello,

RDBMS Version:: 10.2.0.1.0
Operating System and Version:: Windows 2000 SP4
Client Operating System and Version:: Windows XP SP2
Client Net Version:: 8.1.6/8.1.7

Today we have observed following error.

30-NOV-2005 17:44:28 * (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=qo762)(CID=(PROGRAM=D:\ITBMed4\i1W.exe)(HOST=PC-RUPALI-XP)(USER=rupali))) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=10.83.3.67)(PORT=2180)) * establish * qo762 * 12518
TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
32-bit Windows Error: 233: Unknown error

Currently we did set following parameter in listener.ora and restarted listener.

DIRECT_HANDOFF_TTC_LISTENER=OFF

But this workaround doesn't work. Can anyone help us please to solve this issue. It's urgent.

Why are you still using Client Net Version:: 8.1.6/8.1.7 against 10g?

Hi Tamil,

We never had any issue of using 8i client with higher version database release before. In any environment when one database server is migrated to new version, migrating hundreds/thousands of clients to new release will take some time.

Do you mean is this the issue?
